I received an electronic copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 Honestly, this book wasn't what I expected。 The author travels the globe and gives little blurbs about amazing art you can see when visiting similar places。 Most blurbs about the artwork include a triangle which points in the direction of a picture of the work its describing。 Some works she describes unfortunately do not include a picture。 This is a great way to travel around the continents during the tim I received an electronic copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 Honestly, this book wasn't what I expected。 The author travels the globe and gives little blurbs about amazing art you can see when visiting similar places。 Most blurbs about the artwork include a triangle which points in the direction of a picture of the work its describing。 Some works she describes unfortunately do not include a picture。 This is a great way to travel around the continents during the time of Covid。 It appears there is only one picture for each described art work, so you can only see it from the one captured angle。 I think this would make a really cool huge coffee table book。 As an e-book, it is difficult to read on a phone。 You would need a tablet or PC screen to fit the entire page on the screen。 I think this book would be best enjoyed in print form with glossy pictures。 。。。more

As someone who has planned whole travel itineraries around visiting art museums I thought this book would be perfect for me。 The book is divided into sections by continent and readily admits that it mixes traditional museums with art in unusual places。 With over 400 entries it is a nice resource for different types and styles of art。 Most places get a photo and a small blurb that mentions a highlight or two。 It is easily readable and I the art spotlighted is interesting to learn about。I focussed As someone who has planned whole travel itineraries around visiting art museums I thought this book would be perfect for me。 The book is divided into sections by continent and readily admits that it mixes traditional museums with art in unusual places。 With over 400 entries it is a nice resource for different types and styles of art。 Most places get a photo and a small blurb that mentions a highlight or two。 It is easily readable and I the art spotlighted is interesting to learn about。I focussed my attention on North America and Europe as I've traveled extensively on those continents。 Happily I've visited almost 30 of the art sites (museums, galleries, etc。) listed in the USA and over 30 in Europe。 The photos are pretty and I enjoyed looking for art that I've seen or locations I've been to for museums I may have missed。 This is a fun book to look through and add ideas to your art bucket list, but it isn't organized well to be a travel resource or guide。 The Trail for Georgia O'Keeffe is great if you are visiting New Mexico, but the Picasso Trail requires visiting two continents and five countries。 I did read through the entire book and look forward to future places to visit art when travel becomes easier again。 I like the idea for this book and it would be a nice gift for the an art and travel lover。 Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group-White Lion for a temporary ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Perfect book to use when planning itineraries to include some art treasures and sculptures on your travels around the world。 Some familiar locations and galleries but also some lesser known and possibly more likely to get missed。 Well researched and I have actually been to a few of the authors choices, lots more on my list now。 If you like art and travel then you will love this book and refer to it for years to come。 Thank you #NetGalley for the copy to review。
